CCW Tactics

This course is designed around the actual carrying of a concealed weapon. Students should wear normal everyday dress attire, and carry their weapon as they normally would from day to day. A current CCW license is required to attend this training.
All the drills will be conducted from a concealed carry holster on an outdoor range. This course is designed to challenge students to work from concealed positions with the gear and equipment they would normally have in everyday situations.
This course will better prepare you to perform in a realistic concealed carry situation. Emphasis will also be placed on accountability and legal aspects of all engagements.
If you are going to carry a concealed weapon you owe it to yourself to attend this class.

Red Dot Pistol Clinic – 4hr

This class will familiarize students with the operation of and considerations to a pistol with a slide-mounted red dot optic.
The course will cover equipment, pros, and cons, “acquiring the dot” zeroing, CQB considerations, following through and tracking the dot (live and dry firing), and adverse positions.
Students will get to apply what they learn throughout the day during a series of courses of fire.

Low Light Pistol

Nearly 2/3 of the day has some sort of diminished light environment, including normal daylight hours.  This course is designed to prepare students for lethal force encounters during those times and will give them the skill set to handle these situations with higher success.  Students will gain a better understanding of how the human eye works in low-level light situations.  Topics will cover handheld flashlights, weapons mounted lights, and incandescent models vs. LED models of lights.  The proper manipulation of handheld lights in conjunction with their firearms will be covered. Students will consider the use of barricades and low-level light situations, legal issues, and other safety concerns.

Shoot House – Pistol & Rifle

The workman firearms shoot house course involves operating in a live fire shoot house. During this course students will be instructed on individual movement and clearing techniques that may be employed for a home defense situation or a tactical retreat from a building under attack, i.e. active shooter. The course will deal with both pistol and rifle.
This course is broken down into 3 parts. First a flat range “warm up”. Next will be the tactical shoot house. Last we will use the shoot house as an apparatus for practical shooting competition. Down time will be occupied with flat range drills and competitions.

Vehicle Gunfighting – Pistol

This course will provide the CCW permit holder with the means to survive
a potentially deadly encounter in and around vehicles. The student will be placed in various
positions in and around a vehicle and will be asked to make decisions in a stressful
environment. Students will receive training in Close Quarters Battle Engagements and will be
required to use critical thinking skills throughout the course. This course will require extended hours.

Students need to have at the minimum, an intermediate skill level with their pistol. This class
will have many moving parts and will require students to manipulate their firearms in positions
they may not be familiar with. Firearm safety rules will be strictly adhered to. Successful
completion of Workman Firearms Combat Pistol and/or Gunfighter Pistol classes required
(documentation required). Proficiency can be established from other courses, but you must
provide documentation for Workman Firearms staff to review.

Rifle Zero Clinic – 4hr

This clinic is designed to give shooters the knowledge needed to quickly and efficiently zero their AR-style rifles. In today’s market ammunition is expensive. Let us show you how to streamline the process of zeroing both iron sights and red dot optics.

In this class, we will discuss safety, nomenclature, equipment setup and some basic drills to get you comfortable with the rifle. Positional Carbine Rifle

Positional carbine is an accompaniment to CQB carbine. Shooters will learn positional techniques for stabilizing the AR carbine for medium to long-range engagements. This is an excellent course, not just for Law Enforcement, but also for those looking to participate in either NRA style bullseye shoots or fast-paced ranged shooting in 2 and 3 gun matches.

CQB Carbine Rifle

This course is designed to train the skills needed for use of the carbine in a CQB/ home defense environment. Instruction covers firearms safety, nomenclature, ammo selection, operational procedures. The course is divided into four modules and students should arrange to attend all four. The first module will be classroom instruction. The remaining three will be live-fire ranges.
Note:    This class can be physically demanding at times, and students will be exposed to environmental extremes.  Proper Range attire is a must.

Tactical Shotgun

Instruction covers firearms safety, administrative procedure, operational procedure, and tactical shooting skills. Students will learn techniques commonly used in urban and rural environments. They will learn to fundamental principles that will increase students speed, accuracy, and confidence with the shotgun. Additional topics include characteristics & accessories, line level maintenance, ready positions, deployment, shooting positions, firing techniques, shooting on the move, barricades, and transition drills.

Day of Mayhem (aka Soul Crusher)

The Day of Mayhem has arrived. This course is a compilation of standards and competition drills used throughout my 10 plus years of training shooters. Many of these drills were never run in workman classes due to time and the emphasis on skill building. Today is the day to put up or shut up. Shooters wishing to attend should be able to demonstrate superior safe handling skills with their firearms. The day will involve both pistol and rifle tests. See equipment list for suggested packing list. Spots are limited to 12. This course is physically demanding and will involve some running and agility work.
